The Clash Between Jaysh Al Islam and Rahman Brigade Goes Way Back, Involves Millions of Dollars [Video] - Like This Article

In the wake of the ongoing fierce battles between the Al Nusra Front terrorists and their allies from the Qatari-funded Al Rahman Brigade in the Damascene suburban area of eastern Ghouta, that have so far left hundreds of dead on both sides, it is important to understand the causes and background of the ongoing conflict.

Although the enclosed video dates back to 2015, it serves as a nice evidence of what were some of the motivations that persuaded Jaysh Al Islam to make violent incursions into Al Nusra Front-occupied territories.

In the video we can see the former Jaysh Al Islam leader Zahran Alloush, arguing with Al Rahman Brigade leadership over the sum of $12 Million that was allegedly tunneled to him. The Rahman leadership argues to Alloush that he keeps all the money for himself and at the expense of other fighters and the people of Ghouta.

Zahran Alloush was killed on December 25th 2015, after Syrian Air Force carried out strikes on the village of Utaya, located east of Damascus.

It is noteworthy that the two groups were also involved in similar clashes around the same time last year. According to witnesses, protesters were also being shot.

Jaysh Al Islam is the largest jihadist group, belonging to the so-called "armed Syrian opposition", fighting against the Syrian Army.
