Russian warships, stationed in the Mediterranean Sea, fired four cruise missiles at ISIS positions in surrounding areas of Palmyra, located in the eastern countryside of the central Syrian province of Homs.
According to the statement by the Russian Defense Ministry which was issued on Wednesday, frigate Admiral Essen and submarine Krasnodar, belonging to the Russian Navy Fleet, last night fired 4 Kalibr cruise missiles, aimed at ISIS positions in the surrounding areas of Palmyra.
All targets were hit, with submarine’s missiles being launched from the seabed.
Operation was carried out within the scope of the Russia’s anti-ISIS mission in Syria.
