Not long after Syrian forces repelled an ISIS assault in Hama province and significant progress was made in attempting to completely secure the southern side of the Syrian-Iraqi border, the US-led coalition carried out an act of aggression against the Syrian Army.

Spokesman for the US-led international anti-ISIS coalition confirmed that coalition forces struck Syrian Army positions near the Jordanian border area.

According to the field reports, strikes were carried out near Al Tanf area, located at Jordanian border, where American, British and Jordanian forces are currently training the jihadists, fighting against the Syrian Army.

It is noteworthy that Syrian forces recently made major progress and are about to secure the southern side of the Iraqi border.

Currently, there is a huge amassing of US, British and Jordanian troops at the Syrian-Jordanian border. According to some, the US, UK, and Jordan are reportedly trying to disrupt the Syrian-Iraqi coordination in fight against ISIS.

“The strike did happen. It was against a pro-regime force operating in the vicinity of At Tanf. This regime force was operating within a well-established de-confliction zone,” a defense official told Sputnik.

In the meantime, Syrian Army responded to the latest US provocation, saying a convoy of five T-62 tanks was hit by the coalition forces. 6 soldiers were killed during the raid and two tanks were destroyed. Apart from the Syrian Army, members of National Defense Forces (NDF), Hezbollah, and Imam Al Ali Battalion were present at the scene.

The strikes were not yet confirmed by Pentagon.
