Vladimir Putin and Igor Levitin
According to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s aide, Igor Levitin, constructive dialogue with Washington is one of Moscow’s priorities.
“The world has reached a dangerous point. The situation has reached the point of worsened relations between Russia and the West, and how these relations will be resolved depends on experts. Not all problems can be solved, but it is necessary to step by step move away from this dangerous level,” Levitin said at the annual Baltic Forum conference held in Latvia on Saturday.
Levitin stressed that Russia supports dialogue with the West and one of Moscow’s priorities is constructive dialogue with Washington.
“Resolving problems in Syria and the Middle East, combatting international terrorism, and other problems depend on this dialogue. It is necessary to make a choice: either further deepen tensions or actually start the ascent from the lowest point in relations between Russia and the West that we have reached,” Levitin said.
