Death toll in Wednesday's Kabul blast is increasing.

Until now, at least 90 people were confirmed to be killed and over 400 wounded.

On Wednesday morning, terrorists detonated a vehicle right next to Kabul's diplomatic quarter amid the rush hour.

The blast, which was so severed that even the buildings located hundreds of meters away were damaged, occurred in the vicinity of Afghan presidential palace and foreign embassies.

Most of the victims are said to be civilians.

An Afghan security guard was killed and two Japanese nationals, 11 US nationals, 4 BBC journalists and several employees of German embassy, were among the wounded.

Buildings of the Chinese and Turkish embassies also received some damage.

Terrorist group ISIS has since claimed responsibility for the attack.

According to some sources which cannot be independently verified at the moment, the vehicle, belonging to the terrorists, was reportedly heading towards the Green Zone, an area which is a home to several foreign embassies, but was intercepted by security forces, thus prompting the terrorists to blow it up.

Had the vehicle reached its destination, death toll would have been much higher.
