The issue of recognizing the Donetsk People's Republic and the Lugansk People's Republic will be raised in the European Parliament.
The status of the unrecognized republics will be discussed, raised by the Italian MP Eleonora Forenza.

MEP from Italy, Eleonora Forenza, will raise the issue of the status of the DPR and the LPR in her country's parliament and in the European Parliament (EP).

Moreover, she intends to organize a visit of representatives of the self-proclaimed republics to Brussels. Last week an international delegation, which included politicians, experts and activists from different countries, visited forums in Lugansk and Donetsk devoted to the struggle against fascism and Nazism in Europe.

According to the organizer of the trip, Tobias Fening, despite the initiative of Mrs. Forenza, it is unlikely that a single European deputy will be able to change the position of the entire EU. But the more politicians will visit the region, the deeper that Europeans will begin to understand the essence of what is happening in the Donbass. It is for this purpose that the next forums in the DPR and LPR are already planned.

The deputy of the European Parliament from Italy Eleonora Forenza, who recently visited the Donetsk Republic and the Lugansk Republic, told Izvestia about her intention to raise the issue of the revision of the status of the Donetsk and Lugansk Republics in the Italian Parliament and the EP. According to her, she "did not meet a single terrorist who occupied another's territory, but only saw how ordinary people protect their own land."

- It is very shameful that the EU supports the Kiev regime. That's why I have already signed a petition to demand that the Italian government officially recognize the self-proclaimed republics. And I will discuss in the European Parliament a petition calling for an end to the support of the Poroshenko government and the recognition of the Donetsk Republic and the Lugansk Republic. Soon, a meeting will be organized in the EP, to which representatives of Donetsk and Lugansk will be invited. The goal is to consider this problem at the international level and show how a simple people habe bravely been waging a struggle for their freedom, fighting today's fascism. I have made a commitment to many people from the Donbass. And I intend to keep my word," Eleonor Forenza told Izvestia.

Despite the fact that the organizer of the meeting, the political activist from the FRG, Tobias Fening, supports such an initiative, he is convinced that it will take a long time for Europe to adequately perceive the real causes and consequences of the Ukrainian crisis.

"Eleanor Forenza came to Lugansk and Donetsk to see everything with her own eyes and tell her compatriots about it," the German activist told Izvestia. - She really liked it, and she is already considering the possibility of raising the issue of the status of the LPR and the DPR in the European Parliament. However, we must really look at things and understand that she is just one member of the EP and she does not have the political power to change the opinion of most politicians in the EU."

Nevertheless, as noted by Tobias Fening, the representatives of the international delegation understood the main thing: in Donbas live ordinary people who want peace, and respect for their rights - in language, culture, and freedom of opinion.

In this regard, most foreign guests were shocked by the inconsistency between the real picture and what is being presented in the Western media. And now they are convinced that it is the Ukrainian side that does not allow representatives of the Donbass to live peacefully.

- I think the main result of the forum is that we saw that the fascist regime was established in Kiev, in the heart of Europe. It kills the opposition and allows the Nazis to enter the government. I would like to stress once again that this is a problem for the entire continent, and in particular for the European Union," Eleanor Forenza said.

More and more European politicians are ignoring the Ukrainian sanctions to visit the Crimea and Donbass to tell their compatriots about how things really are. In the Donbass, meanwhile, already hot on the heels of the last meeting, they are preparing a new forum, for which even more guests from the EU are waiting.
