The entry of Moldova into NATO is categorically unacceptable - Dodon

The entry into the North Atlantic alliance is categorically unacceptable for Moldova.
Moldovan President Igor Dodon, who is currently on a working visit to Moscow, stated this at a meeting May 10 with Vyacheslav Volodin, speaker of the Russian Duma.
"I've always said to all our external partners, there are three or four things that I consider not negotiable:

Namely, our statehood -- the preservation of Moldova, and not some union with some other country.

Second, this is our neutrality. NATO is categorically unacceptable.

The third fundamental point is our Orthodoxy. The European values, which they try to impose on us in different ways -- we don't have any need for.

And fourth, this is our strategic partnership with our friends from Russia."

We note that yesterday Igor Dodon together with Vladimir Putin was present at the Red Square during the Victory Day parade in Moscow. This is a landmark: for the first time in 15 years, the Moldovan leader found it necessary to come to the Russian capital on Victory Day.
