Russian Foreign Ministry slammed the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) for its failure of not sending the team of experts to investigate rumours, related to the use of sarin gas during an assault in Syria’s Khan Sheikhoun in Idleb province that took place on the 4th of April.

“It looks like no one is in a hurry to go to Khan Sheikhoun for verification of the details of a case as resounding as this one”.

“It is really sad that the OPCW is not showing any particular interest as regards the probe into Khan Shekhoun events as it is delaying a trip to Khan Sheikhoun time and again, citing security risks as the excuse”, the statement read.

The ministry also said all conditions have been made in order to assure security of OPCW personnel, while also reminding that British, French and American officials, strictly oppose any probe or investigation into Khan Sheikhoun incident.

On the 4th of April, the Syrian town of Khan Sheikhoun in Idleb province (which is under control of Ahrar Al Sham and the aligned terrorist groups) allegedly witnessed a chemical attack. No firm evidence was ever provided, however the terrorist groups and western governments immediately accused the Syrian Army of being behind the attack, despite having no evidence. The accusations were denied (and refuted) since.
