A Russia Today photo journalist, Ramil Sitdikova, accredited for the Eurovision contest, was not allowed into the Ukraine, stated the director of management of Russia Today, Aleksandr Shtol.

"Our photographer was turned away from Kiev. On the border, they took documents, left somewhere and after about an hour, returned with the decision to refuse entry. The accreditation was received in a proper and correct procedure"- said Stohl.

Stohl added that Sitdikova was handed the decision to refuse entry "based on unconfirmed reason"

The Official opening of Eurovision-2017 will be held in Kiev on May 7th. The finale is scheduled for May 13, the semi-finals will be held on 9 and 11 May.

The competition will be attended by 42 countries. Representing Russia was supposed to be Julia Samoilova, wheelchair-bound, with a song about love - Flame Is Burning. The Security Service of Ukraine has banned the actress from entering the country for three years because of her performances in the Crimea.

The European Broadcasting Union has suggested that Russia broadcast the contest via satellite or change the contestant. These options were called unacceptable, therefore the contest will not be broadcast in Russia.
