Perez Trabelsi, President of the Jewish community at the Temple of Ghriba, Africa's oldest Synagogue, located in the Tunisian island of Djerba, said on Wednesday that Tunisia is safer than Israel.
His statement came in the wake of security warnings, issued by Israeli officials about not visiting the country and making pilgrimages to the Jewish temple of Ghriba, due to security threats.
“Warnings of the Israeli officials about the likely security threats are baseless, Tunisia is even safer than Israel itself”, Trabelsi was heard saying.
