Speaking at a press conference with the Italian prime minister, the Russian president said he had ‘no other explanation’ other than ‘political schizophrenia’, as to President Trump coming under attack for allegedly divulging 'secrets' to Russia.
Mr Putin even suggested that Russia share the records of last week’s talks between Mr Trump and Mr Lavrov with the US Congress, if they shall allow that. This was a subtle hint at the fact that the US rarely consoles evidence when it comes to allegations against Russia, whether in Syria's casualty records, alleged meddling in US elections, or even the recent mass hack attack.
President Putin joked that that he would reprimand Mr Lavrov because he hasn’t shared said secrets with the rest of the Russian government.
