The military tribunal of the Donetsk People's Republic has sentenced a resident to 18 years in prison for spying for Ukraine. This was reported today by the press service of the General Prosecutor of Donetsk.


"The verdict of the Military Tribunal on a resident of Donetsk, who was found guilty of committing crimes, is assigned a final punishment in the form of 18 years of imprisonment" - it said in a statement. 


From September 2014 to April 2015, the convict collected and transmitted to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, information about the location of roadblocks, number of troops and military equipment of the Armed forces of the Donetsk.


The information collected, as well as photos and diagrams were transmitted to Ukraine for a fee, for the eventual use against the security of the Donetsk People's Republic.
