Sanctions against Crimea will be extended for another year. This was the decision taken by the Permanent Representatives of the EU member states (Coreper), on 6 June and officially released today.

"Today - a source from the EU Council said at the Ria Novosti press agency last June 6 – the Permanent Representatives have decided a one year extension to to the sanctions without introducing any change. If nothing changes, the Foreign Affairs Council will approve this decision at the next meeting on June 19th. "


He noted that the Foreign Ministers of the EU countries would formally approve the extension of sanctions without debate. The current sanctions against the Peninsula are valid until June 23.


Penalties against Crimea were introduced in June 2014. Initially, the restrictions concerned the import ban in the EU for Crimean goods without Ukrainian certification. Subsequently, Brussels banned exports of a large quantity of European goods and forbid investments in the peninsula
