Ukrainian troops seize school in Luganskaya Stanitsa…with OSCE support

The TV channel "Lugansk 1" has reported that Ukrainian troops have taken over a children’s school in the village of Rasvet (near Luganskaya Stanitsa). This news forced the OSCE mission to react. On May 29th, the OSCE sent its staff to Rasvet to talk with the residents about the state of affairs. However, real dialogue failed to materialize. When residents said that Kiev’s soldiers had occupied the local children’s school, the OSCE “defenders of rights and freedom of the OSCE” objected, alleging that there are no documents evidencing the “requisitioning” of an institution and that the military is temporarily using the building exclusively as a nighttime barracks. The staff of the OSCE mission advised sending the children to study in the nearby village of Shiroky.

LPR People's Militia sappers de-mine frontline towns

In the past week, engineering and de-mining units of the People's Militia of the People's Republic of Lugansk have cleared an area of eight square kilometers in the vicinity of the front-line settlements of Kirovsk, Sokolniki and Frunze, LPR People’s Militia Spokesman and Lieutenant-Colonel Andrei Marochko has reported. LPR residents are frequent victims of Ukrainian mines in the area. In May, a tractor ran over a mine, killing two civilians and injuring four women, two of home subsequently died from wounds.

Ukraine forbids servicing LPR residents in passport offices

The heads of district and city departments of the Ukrainian migration service in the Lugansk region have received an order forbidding the issuing of passports or pasting photos in the passports of residents of the LPR. This has been reported by the Center for Public Relations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the LPR. Such information was provided on June 16th by a member of the Severodonetsk department of the national police to LPR Ministry of Internal Affair’s hotline. The caller said that such an order for the district and city departments of the migration service of the Lugansk region was received from the Head of the State Migration Service of Ukraine in the Lugansk region, Yuri Skirtach. Thus, the Kiev authorities are openly contradicting themselves in speaking of a "united Ukraine" and a "return" of Donbass. In reality, Ukrainian social policy is pushing Donbass away.

War on the Donbass Republics and Russia to be set in law?

At a meeting of the Popular Front’s fraction in Ukraine’s parliament, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Oleksandr Turchynov presented the draft bill of a law "on the de-occupation of certain regions of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions." This was announced by Verkhovna Rada Speaker Andrei Parubiy, who also participated in the meeting. The essence of the project is "the recognition of officially occupied territories," Parubiy said. He underlined that the text of the law is not ready yet, and is only a concept. Earlier, Turchynov said that Ukraine needs to complete the anti-terrorist operation and move on to a new format of "protecting the country from hybrid war with Russia." This new concept bases itself on a provision to use the Armed Forces of Ukraine against the "aggression of Russia.

The LPR’s representative to the Minsk Group, Vladislav Daney, expects that the Kiev representative in the Contact Group will try to "deceive the public and guarantors on the implementation of the Minsk agreements" and to push the document through. Interestingly enough, the document surfaced just before Poroshenko's visit to the United States. Like the law project prepared by the Poroshenko Administration, Turchynov's legislative project means the legal establishment of the preconditions for war with Russia.

Residents of Ukrainian-occupied Donbass sabotage UAF mobilization

The military commissariat of the Novoaydarsky district (Ukraine) has acknowledged the failure of 7th mobilization wave campaign. Residents of the areas of Donbass controlled by the Ukrainian authorities are avoiding service in the UAF despite the catastrophic situation in the labor market. In the Novoyaidar district, 1845 people were fit for mobilization into the army, 44 of whom are officers. However, military authorities avoid totally mobilizing the area out of fear of the factor of political loyalty. After all, the population sympathizes with the republics of Donbass and, therefore, giving them weapons would be far from safe for the Ukrainian authorities. As a result, a total of only 13 people have been enrolled in the newly-formed “self-defense detachment" (a sort of UAF reserve unit).

Donbass on the brink of environmental catastrophe?

In their genocidal war against the people of Donbass, the Ukrainian authorities are destroying the region’s ecological system. This was drawn attention to at the round table "Ecocide in Ukraine - a mortal threat to the world community" by the head of the LPR, Igor Plotnitsky. In particular, Plotnitsky stressed that this is "about the uncontrolled commercial deforestation in the area of Lisichansk, Kremenna, Luganskaya Stanitsa. Moreover, information on contracts for logging, environmental assessment of this activity, its scale - all this is withheld not only from us, but also from the public inside Ukraine itself.”

Candidate of Biological Sciences Irina Zholudeva says that the blockade of Donbass conducted by the Ukrainian authorities is leading to an increase in the emissions of carbon dioxide in thermal power plants. The use of new, low-quality varieties of coal instead of the traditional, high-quality grades in Ukrainian TPP’s as a result of Ukraine's blockade of Donbass is leading to an increase in carbon dioxide emissions, she stressed. Igor Plotnitsky summed up the round table by warning that environmental disaster in Donbass will affect both Russia and Europe. Vladimir Krugly, member of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, has confirmed that the threat of an ecological catastrophe in Donbass is a global issue.
