In the Crimea, anti-terrorism security is being strengthened in the height of the tourist season. This was announced today, by the Russian Security Council Secretary, Nikolai Patrushev, during a meeting on the security of the peninsula.
"We are nearly doubling the density of patrol units in the resort city, places of public entertainment", - said Patrushev.
According to him, the socio -political and crime situation on the peninsula is "generally stable". The positive trend is also observed in the economy and the social sphere.
Earlier, Patrushev said that the security services in the Crimea prevented the activities of 20 criminal gangs, specializing in the smuggling of weapons and drugs, as well as in the supply of extremist materials. Also, they identified 17 non-governmental organizations that perform covert functions "similar to those of a foreign agent."
