Syria confirmed it no longer possesses any types of chemical weapons, adding that large quantities of chemicals and  tools, used to produce chemical weapons, are known to be in possession by the terrorist groups, adding they are being supplied from abroad, particularly Turkey and Israel.

During his speech at the UN Security Council on Wednesday, Louay Fallouh, the deputy Syrian ambassador to the United Nations, said that recent allegations, spreaded by certain Western countries on the possibility of the Syrian Army's determination to use chemical weapons in the future, are not based on any actual facts or evidence.

Since Monday, the White House has been spreading rumors that the Syrian Army is “gearing up for another assault with chemical weapons”.

Although no evidence or clue was ever provided, the White House spokesman Sean Spicer has already warned the Syrian President Bashar Al Assad that he would pay a “heavy price”, should he carry out an attack of this kind, with the US Secretary of Defense James Mattis even saying that “Syria took Washington 's warning about the use of chemical weapons apparently very seriously.”

For his part, the Secretary-General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres, said the White House warned Syrian President Bashar Al Assad about the use of chemical weapons, adding the US claims should be taken seriously.

“I think it is advisable to listen to the warnings of the White House”, Guterres was heard saying ahead of his meeting with the US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, at the UN headquarters in New York.

In turn, the Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, warned the US about any of its future attacks against Syria under false pretexts, adding that US aggression against the Syrian Army would only strengthen the position of ISIS in the region.

For his part, the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Moscow will respond, in an “appropriate way”, to any types of US threats, provocations or even military aggression against Syria, adding that the American accusations and rumours about the Syrian authorities allegedly preparing to carry out another attack with chemical weapons, are nothing new and have absolutely no credibility.

Meanwhile, Israeli media reported the US supercarrier George H.W. Bush will dock in the port of Haifa on the first of July and will remain there until the fifth of the month.

The US supercarrier will reportedly carry about five thousand marines and pilots, as well as different types of aircrafts.

The US authorities refuse to comment on the purpose of the visit.
