The Israeli military sources confirmed that Israeli Air Force has carried out a raid on the Syrian Army positions on Saturday afternoon, after several shells, reportedly originating from Syria, fell on the Israeli-controlled side of the Golan Heights.

It is noteworthy that the Israeli raid occurred right in time when the Syrian Army was repelling an attack by Al Nusra Front terrorists at the outskirts of the border town of Quneitra.

The Israeli Defense Forces have already issued a statement, saying the air force units targeted two tanks of the Syrian Army in the northern part of the Golan Heights.

According to reports in the Israeli press, 10 mortar shells fells north of the occupied Golan Heights.

Israeli Defense Forces have already ordered farmers, cultivating and harvesting their crops right at the border with Syria, to temporarily leave the area.

The Israeli military sources, however, said the mortar shells did not fall intentionally and resulted from a clash that was taking place in Syria.

No-one was reportedly hurt in the incident.
