Syrian military sources said the Army and its allies took control of Al Dleiyat in the Syrian Desert and proceeded even 4 km further to the east.

The latest gains come, after taking control of T3 point and Dahr Abaya and proceeding 3 km further to the east, yesterday.

The operations are still ongoing as the Army units are pursuing ISIS terrorists in the areas southeast of Palmyra.

In addition, military operations also resulted in a large number of ISIS terrorists being annihilated, including several of their top military officials and a field officer, as well as destruction of their weapons and ammunition.

On Monday, Syrian military sources revealed the plan to take control over the key strategic area that surrounds Al Dleiyat and borders Homs province with the eastern province of Deir Ez Zour, where a major-scale anti-ISIS campaign is currently taking place.

Meanwhile, the US-backed so called “Syrian Democratic Forces” announced they took control of over 25% of the city of Raqqa, otherwise known as the main stronghold of ISIS.
