Syria’s Permanent Representative to the UN in Geneva, Ambassador Hussam Eddin Ala, said covering up the role of certain countries and their involvement in war crimes against civilians in Syria, as well as the violations, committed by the so-called US-led “anti-ISIS” coalition, is a collusion, set up against the Syrian state.

During an update on the Syria situation, held within the framework of the 35th session of the UN Human Rights Council, Ala said it’s perfectly clear the Council wants to spread negative impact on the next round of Geneva talks that will kick off in the nearby future, done in accordance with the wishes of certain countries, particularly the ones that have been waging the war against Syria for the past 7 years.

He pointed how the International Commission of Inquiry permitted the Turkish regime to hold meetings with specific political entities, known for its hostility towards the Syrian state and which are being operated by the Turkish intelligence and are in fact nothing but dangerous terrorist groups in a more “civilized” disguise, noting how the Commission often likes to rely on their reports and treats them with respect, despite the fact it's clearly obvious they are forged and aimed at manipulating and distorting the truth.

He also highlighted the exposure of a whole bunch of media hoaxes, aimed at destroying credibility of the Syrian state and it’s government, most recently with the stories such as the one about Omar Daqneesh, a little boy form Aleppo that is now happily living with his family.

He then said several documents and recordings have been leaked in the past few days and which are confirming the involvement in supporting terrorism of the several countries that also happen to be the Council members, particularly Qatar (which the US President Donald Trump recently described as having a long standing record of supporting terrorism worldwide at the highest level), and Saudi Arabia, whom the British government helped to prevent publishing an official report of its involvement in supporting terrorist groups and its role in spreading Wahhabism.

Before concluding his speech, Ala said it’s time for the Council to immediately halt this disgraceful form of manipulation, practiced by certain countries, involved in supporting terrorism.
