An official source at the US State Department said Washington is deeply concerned over the outbreak of a new diplomatic crisis between Qatar and some of its fellow Gulf Cooperation Council States.

The source confirmed Washington's readiness to help to resolve the ongoing diplomatic crisis as the GCC states, involved in the diplomatic row with Qatar, are considered as highly important US allies, saying the US is counting on all parties to resolve their disputes pretty soon.

Meanwhile, the US military said its bases and installations in Qatar will remain operable, despite the ongoing crisis, adding that US is grateful to Qatar and its support of their long-term military presence in the country, a thing that reportedly shows Qatar’s “commitment to regional security”.

Earlier on Monday, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, ceased all diplomatic relations with Qatar, stating terrorism and meddling in internal affairs as the main reason behind the decision.

Later, Maldives, Egypt, Yemen and Libya decided to follow the same pattern too.
