Uzbekistan recently ratified official measures to fight terrorism and to curb religious radicalisation. The measures were included in the national legislation and international agreements of Uzbekistan.
Accordingly, Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov said that religious extremism and terrorism will be officially recognised as crimes against peace and humanity in the Constitution and normative acts.
Kamilov also said that the promotion of interethnic tolerance and the promotion welfare policies are paramount factors in the fight against terrorism and radicalisation.
“Our unity is in diversity,” added the minister.
Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister added that a mechanism has been established among the Central Asian countries for interaction of law enforcement agencies in the field of counter-terrorism and prevention of religious radicalisation.
