Nevio Zagaria, WHO representative in Yemen, said on Saturday that number of deaths, resulting from the cholera outbreak, has risen to 1500, and called for more international aid to help preventing the spread of this dangerous infectious disease.

During a joint press conference with the United Nations Children's Fund representatives (UNICEF) and the World Bank, Zagaria said the number of suspected cases of cholera infection, was, until the 30th of June, estimated to be about 246,000.

On Tuesday, the World Health Organization (WHO) announced it is already working on necessary preventive measures to finally curb the disease, two months after its outbreak and least 218,798 documented cases of cholera infection.

It is noteworthy that due to intense Saudi bombardment, most medical and sanitary facilities in Yemen were completely destroyed.
