Sources close to the authorities in Syria, confirmed that security forces managed to destroy two cars, driven by suicide bombers, at the Airport Road roundabout area in Damascus, before reaching the city.
Another suicide bomber was also surrounded in Al Ghadeer square in Bab Touma district of Damascus, however, he managed to blow himself up before he could have been destroyed.
As a result, at least 8 people were killed and 12 others were left wounded.
The terror act reportedly happened at 6:15 am, local time.
For its part, the so-called “Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR)”, reported that several explosions rocked Damascus on Sunday morning, adding the explosions were concentrated in the vicinity of Tahrir Square in Baghdad street, and the Airport Road roundabout, east of the city.
According to SOHR, the explosions were caused by car bombs, resulting in human casualties and material damage.
So far, no-one has claimed responsibility for the attacks.
Currently, all active terrorist groups are facing great losses against the Syrian Army.
