Mikhail Ulyanov, Director of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s Non-Proliferation and Arms Control Department, said on Thursday that the report of the fact-finding mission of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) on the alleged use of chemical weapons in the Syria's northwestern town of Khan Sheikhoun, back on the 4th of April, is rather disappointing and brings nothing new or relevant.

“We find the OPCW on Khan Sheikhoun incident to be rather disappointing. We hoped for a more balanced and unbiased results of the investigation, based on reliable sources, that would help us discover those responsible,” Ulyanov was quoted saying by the TASS news agency.

He added that there is an impression that the past two months have gone to waste as the OPCW itself is clearly not making enough effort to discover the relevant facts, despite having all possibilities.

He then called for carrying out a prompt and thorough investigation into the events, with participation of both, the OPCW and the UN, saying the experts must visit Khan Sheikhoun and Shayrat airbase, in order to properly discover all facts.
