Russian military source said that Admiral Essen frigate missile carries has left the Back Sea city of Sevastopol on Sunday, in order to sail towards the Syrian shores where it will join a group of Russian warships stationed there. 

The exact time of the arrival is not yet known.

According to an unnamed source, the crew of the frigate will be trained to carry out a number of tasks, particularly repelling air, land and sea, attacks, staying on full alert and being ready to carry out immediate tasks in various circumstances.

Although the frigate Admiral Essen has entered the service only recently, it has already accomplished its first batch of Syria-related tasks back on the 23rd of June.

On that day, the Admiral Essen frigate participated alongside Admiral Grigorovich frigate and a Krasnodar submarine in a series of anti-ISIS operations.

Six Kalibr cruise missiles were launched from the eastern part of the Mediterranean Sea and targeted ISIS positions in the vicinity of the town of Uqayribat in Syria's Hama province, dealing severe blow to ISIS terrorists.

It is noteworthy that Admiral Essen is carrying Kalibr cruise missiles, naval surface-to-air Shtil-1 missile systems, in addition to torpedoes and Ka -27 navy helicopters. 

On Sunday, 12:00 local time, the Russia-brokered ceasefire for the south-west of Syria, came into effect.

The agreement is said to be going on in accordance with the schedule, while the sources claim that violence started to decline even hours before.
