At least 20 people were killed and many others were left injured, after suicide bomber detonated his car in front of a Quneitra Sharia law “institute”, belonging to the terrorist group Hay’at Tahrir Al Sham, in the village of Haf Sarjah, located in the countryside of the northwestern Syrian province of Idleb.
The blast took the life of the founder and director of the “institute”, Abu Yahya Al Masri, alongside his both aides, Abu Madawi Al Saudi and Abu Osama Aljazaeri.
According to local sources, Al Masri, who was killed in the bombing, was previously injured (and later had his hand amputated) in the battle at Taftanaz military airport few years ago, when he was leading his jihadist group in battle against the Syrian Army.
The same sources pointed out that several children, who reportedly received “lessons” at the “institute”, were among the dead too.
The leadership of Hay’at Tahrir Al Sham has since accused ISIS of being behind the bombing, noting its members have recently become active in Idleb.
