After successfully crossing the eastern bank of Euphrates river yesterday, units of the Syrian Army made new progress on Tuesday.

Currently, the Syrian Army is continuing its operations against gatherings of ISIS terrorists in direction of Al Sabha village, located on the eastern bank of Euphrates River and Koniko gas field. So far, a control over the villages of Mazloum and Al Maratt was established.

On the western axis of Deir Ez Zour city, artillery units heavily pounded ISIS positions in the vicinity, eventually resulting in ground units being able to retrieve the town of Al Shomeitia and its outskirts.

Meanwhile, local sources said that a group of civilians from the town of Abu Kamal clashed with ISIS terrorists of the so-called “Islamic Police”, when they were forcefully trying to recruit young men into their ranks.

At least three of the terrorists were killed and several others got injured.

The same sources also said that ISIS terrorists were seen planting explosives in Jama school near Al Ashara area in Abu Kamal.
