TEHRAN, Iran - A Foreign Ministry spokesperson for Iran has announced that his country would interfere in Lebanon, according to Iran's Tasnim News Agency Twitter account.

This announcement comes as Saudi Arabia has intervened in Lebanese politics by preventing Lebanon's Prime Minister Saad Hariri from returning to his country and forcing him to resign.

Iran and Saudi Arabia are engaged in a regional rivalry with the Islamic Republic and the puritanical kingdom supporting opposing fighting groups in Syria, Yemen and Lebanon.

Saudi Arabia are attempting to destabilize Lebanese politics to pressure Hezbollah who have a significant political presence in Lebanon.
