Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov reminded that Russia HAS NOT promised to ensure the withdrawal of Iranian/pro-Iranian forces (meaning IRGC/Hezbollah) from southern Syria as desired by Israel.

"The presence of Iran and its supported forces in Syria is legitimate", Lavrov was heard saying.

Lavrov's denial of the previous Israeli claims that IRGC/Hezbollah will soon leave the south of Syria due to Israel's repeated requests, in fact comes as no surprise.

Earlier, insider sources from Hezbollah said that Israel had initially requested withdrawal of their forces from within 70 km of the border area,  but lowered its demand to 10 km later, and which was also rejected by Russia.

According to the same sources, Hezbollah is strictly confident that Russia wouldn't betray its close allies in fight against terrorism as that would negatively impact the whole situation.
