Sana'a, Yemen - Footage released by the 'Yemeni Army Media' on Sunday captured the launch of a long-range ballistic missile from Yemeni territory a day earlier towards a target north of Riyadh in Saudi Arabia.

The missile, which allegedly was aimed at the King Khalid International Airport, is said to have been intercepted by Saudi Arabia's air defense forces.

There were reports of a loud blast heard near the airport. However, no casualties were reported and the airport continued to operate according to schedule.

Yemeni Houthi forces have claimed responsibility for the launch in retaliation for Saudi air strikes against the country that has devastated infrastructure, killed thousands and contributed to the worse cholera outbreak seen in recent times.
