Opposition candidate Navalny files lawsuit against President Putin - Like This Article

November 3 , 2017 - Fort Russ News -

In the Tver court of Moscow, a lawsuit has been registered against  Russian president Vladimir Putin. It was filed by Alexei Navalny. The procedural decision on the lawsuit has not yet been made, the court spokeswoman Anastasia Dzyurko explained.

The complaint was filed in connection with numerous refusals by the authorities to coordinate the place and time of the holding of opposition rallies, explained lawyer Ivan Zhdanov. At the same time, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia has counter-claims to the head of the Anti-Corruption Fighting Fund, Alexei Navalny.

In particular, in several Russian cities, such as Bryansk, Kirov, Petrozavodsk, Cheboksary and Yakutsk, rallies did not take place due to the fact that Navalny himself did not appear at the scheduled occasions. The organizers of the rallies did not bother informing the authorities in advance, or did it at the last moment.

To ensure the security of public events, Russian authorities have to bear additional budgetary expenses and involve protection personnel in rallies.
