Poland admits to buying Donbass coal - Like This Article

November 6 , 2017 - Fort Russ News -

Polish Energy Minister, Krzysztof Tchórzewski, acknowledged the supply of coal from the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic to the country. According to him, a relatively small supply has been purchased so far, about 11 thousand tons of coal in total.

"This is as much as one energy block unit consumes per day," the minister said.

In July, the chairman of the People's Council of the Democratic People's Republic of China, Denis Pushilin, said that the Donbass was ready to fully cover Ukraine's coal needs, but the offer was met with a preference for more expensive foreign coal.

Coal mining is one of the main industries in the Donbass, which has historically supplied the Ukraine with energy. It offers the best value for money, inclusive of logistics given its close proximity. Evidently, it's good enough for Poland but not so for Ukraine.
