Within the government of Petro Poroshenko, individuals discuss the idea of a complete renouncing of the Crimea and Donbass. This was stated on air of UkrLife by political scientist Kost Bondarenko.
According to him, the president's nationalistic government understands that the voters of the Crimea and Donbass would create serious problems for the current Ukrainian regime.
"Many people, informally, of course, not on camera, not on record, but many people in his surroundings, say: "Why do we need the Donbass in general? We lost the Crimea - it's good that we lost the Crimea. You know by how much we win in terms of elections? Why do we need these opposition voters, or worse, voters for another political force that arises in the southeast. We have lost these territories, and let's forget about them.
This is one of the ideas that is absolutely informal today, but is absolutely sincerely and honestly discussed in the presidential surroundings," Bondarenko said.
