Perpignan, France - French Catalans took to the streets of Perpignan, on Saturday, to demonstrate for the right to vote on independence.
Northern Catalonia was ceded to France by Spain through the signing of the Treaty of the Pyrenees in 1659.
There are currently around 110,000 people who identify as being Catalonian in France.
Perpignan is considered the center for the community.
