DA NANG, Vietnam - Speaking at a media briefing in Vietnam's Da Nang on Saturday, Russian President Vladimir Putin highlighted cooperation between Russia and US in the fight against ISIS.
''The fight against terrorism will be continued notably through joint efforts," stated Putin, commenting on the joint statement with his US counterpart Donald Trump.
Putin said that Russia and the US reaffirmed their commitment to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria, urging the global community to actively support the peaceful settlement of the Syrian conflict through a UN-backed political process in Geneva.
Earlier in the day, the two leaders met briefly on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit.
