The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands has called the Russian ambassador to the Hague to explain Moscow’s criticism of the MH17 catastrophe investigation, Reuters reports.
Russian foreign ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated at a briefing on Thursday that Moscow regrets the poor quality and politicization of the investigation of the Malaysia Airlines Boeing crash in Donbass.
Dutch Foreign Minister Bert Koenders stated that Russia’s reaction to the results of the investigation “calls into question the integrity, professionalism, and independence of the investigators.”
“The Russian ambassador has been informed that any unwarranted criticism is unacceptable,” the statement of the Netherlands’ foreign ministry is quoted as saying.
The Kremlin has assessed the Russian ambassador’s summoning as positive. The Russian president’s press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, remarked that “the head of our diplomatic mission in the Netherlands will present all the considerations on the position that we have taken.”
The joint investigative group, which has been working to find those guilty for the Boeing’s, crash unveiled a preliminary report on Wednesday.
