North Korea responded to the new batch of sanctions, recently introduced by the Trump administration.

Its parliamentary committee sent a rare letter of protest to the US House of Representatives on Friday, in regards to the recent US attempts of pressuring the country.

In a letter it was said the US will "bitterly regret its decision", adding that North Korea will from now on become even more committed to its nuclear program and will push it "beyond the limits of imagination".

On the fourth of May, The US House of Representatives overwhelmingly approved the introduction of new bill that will put more sanctions on North Korea, particularly affecting its shipping sector.

The letter of protest was signed by the high-ranking members of Supreme People's Assembly's Committee on Foreign Affairs, headed by Ri Su-yong, North Korea's Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The sanctions are currently awaiting their final approval from the US senate.
