The Ukraine has proposed project for the use of the Latin script for the Ukrainian language. The project toward its implementation is called the "Manifesto for Ukrainian Latin" and suggests that 'latinization' will bring Ukraine loser to Europe.

Authorship belongs to the media portal "In chasi". The editors of the portal say that they would like to set an example for the use of the Latin alphabet and encourages colleagues from other media to join the initiative. They also stress that a unified alphabet makes it easier to learn English.

"Educational literature (especially in the humanities) requires revision, and can be quickly upgraded with the launch of a new alphabet on a government level", - the authors explain.

It was reported earlier that both Kazakhstan and Kyrgystan are set to change to the Latin alphabet in the next decade. This is concerning for the future of the Cyrillic alphabet, and the Russian language in the region as a whole.
