Constitutional Commission of Ukraine intends to change the status of Crimea - Like This Article

July 3, 2017 - Fort Russ News -

The Constitutional Commission of Ukraine intends to adopt a proposal on the status of Crimea, which became a Russian region after March 2014 referendum. The Ukraine proposes to give up in the term of "republic" and replace it with "the Crimean-Tatar autonomous region", as told by the deputy of the" Radical party ", committee member Yuri Chizhmar.

The term "republic" refers to federalization, which is why the term will be taken out of all the articles of the constitution. The "Autonomous Republic of Crimea" will be changed to "the Crimean-Tatar autonomy", to reflect not its territorial structure but the right of indigenous peoples to self-determination.

The deputy said that the work on the amendments on the status of Crimea last until the end of the summer, after which the proposals will be submitted to the President.

We are not sure what the point is either.
