OSCE observers announced that the Ukrainian armed forces have repeatedly violated the Minsk agreements, which include the withdrawal of heavy weapons from the line of contact.
The OSCE Special Observer Mission (MSO) found that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had violated certain clauses of the Minsk Agreement, including the provision that the parties to the conflict should undertake to withdraw heavy armaments from the Contact Line, a spokesman for the MSO said told Sputnik.
"On June 8,* in the government-controlled areas, behind the withdrawal lines but outside the established areas for storage, the MSO team detected three Rapira 100mm MT-12 anti-tank guns near the town of Soledar, which were heading towards the east," he said.
"On 9 June, observers also detected a 122 mm 2S1 Gvozdika self-propelled howitzer south of Kramatorsk, which was traveling to the north, and a T-64 tank being hauled by a truck south of Konstantinovka, which was also moving to the north," the organization added.
The purpose of the Special Observation Mission of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) is to identify any violations of the ceasefire on the line of contact between the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the rebels and to see that no heavy weapons penetrate it.
The military conflict in the Donbass began in the spring of 2014 following an attempt by the Kiev authorities to forcefully suppress the disputes in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions.
The two sides have more than once announced truces, but the hostilities have never completely ceased. According to the latest UN data, the conflict has already killed about 10,000 people, according to the latest UN report.
