The population of Ukraine since the beginning of the year has decreased by almost 130 thousand people. As of August 1, 2017 (excluding the territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol), the population of Ukraine amounted to 42 million and 456 thousand people, according to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine. 

From January-July, 2017, the population decreased by 128.5 thousand people.

It is noted that the excess of the number of deaths over the number of live births remains significant: 61 deaths per 100 deceased.

According to Gosstat agency, as of July 1, the population of Ukraine was 42 million 467 thousand people. Thus, the population decreased by 11 thousand in one month.
