Basra province in Iraq's south have enacted new security measures to prevent entry to the region unless one has a guarantor from the province, according to Sura News.
This is part of a new security measure ahead of the Muharram commemoration.
This new security comes as over 20 million visitors are expected in Basra for the Shi'ite commemoration.
Every year there are fears of terrorist attacks at the Shi'ite religious commemoration, particularly from ISIS, hence the reason for extreme security measures.
