Earlier today it was reported by Fort Russ News that the ISIS Hunters, an elite unit of the Syrian Army, announced on its social media that for the first time in years, pro-Syrian government forces have reached the northern side of the Euphrates river at Deir Ezzor to continue its battle against ISIS.
To compliment the news, Russia 24 released exclusive footage of the Syrian Army crossing the Euphrates river in a high symbolic move.
Although the Syrian Army has continuously made raids on the opposite side of the river to battle ISIS, it has not made a permanent foothold until now.
