The British Royal Air Force has  hit one of the ISIS targets in Syria and thus prevented a public execution that was to be carried out by the terrorist group from taking place, after firing a guided missile carried by one of its combat drones.

According to information given by the British Ministry of Defence, the strike took place on May 9th 2017 and targeted an ISIS gathering in the the town of Abu Kamal, located in southeastern countryside of the eastern Syrian province of Deir Ez Zour.

The British Ministry of Defence has not only confirmed the strike, but also declassified footage, making it publicly available online.

In the footage, released by the Ministry, it can be seen that an ISIS military guard, monitoring the execution in the town square below, gets hit. This causes all the attendants, ISIS executioners including, to flee the scene.

It is, however, unclear whether the strike actually prevented the execution from taking place later as it is highly unlikely that the prisoner waiting to be executed was actually able to escape.
