Kurdish-led forces advance against ISIS to beat the Syrian Army to Deir Ezzor's oil, gas fields - Like This Article

September 20, 2017 - Fort Russ News - Paul Antonopoulos

Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have continued its drive against ISIS in Deir Ezzor countryside in a bid to capture the regions vast gas and oil fields before Syrian government forces.

The US-backed SDF have advanced 12km and in the process captured Bir Khunayzir, Bir Masqarat Qalsh and Bi'r al-Hukumah from ISIS.

This puts them on a direct path to the crucial town of As-Suwar and within reach of the natural resources.

This comes as only yesterday Fort Russ News reported with detailed maps on the race between Syrian government forces and the SDF race to reach Deir Ezzor's rich oil and gas fields.

Meanwhile, earlier today reports emerged that the US military are attempting to block the Syrian government from reaching ISIS-held gas and oilfields in Deir Ezzor's countryside by airdropped behind enemy lines in strategic locations, as Fort Russ News published earlier.
