Jordan, US and Russia agree to de-escalation zone in southern Syria - Like This Article

AMMAN, Jordan - A partial cessation of hostilities in the southern provinces of Syria has been signed between Jordan, Russia and the United States.

The deal is based on “de-escalation zones” that they brokered last July and modeled on other de-escalation zones that are implemented in other parts of Syria.

Jordan’s State Minister for Media Affairs Mohammad Momani said on Saturday that the deal is a “key step” to ending the Syrian war and creating the “proper conditions” for a solution to chaos.

Jordan has been supporting terrorist groups in southern Syria and has allowed them a base of operations on the Syria-Jordan border.
