BAGHDAD, Iraq - Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi has said that the fight against ISIS has cost his country $100 billion worth of damage to defeat the terrorist organisation.

“Iraq has lost $100 billion in the anti-ISIS war; but we have achieved success in three battles, namely liberating the land, maintaining Iraq’s unity and standing up to threats,” Abadi said during a speech in the city of Karbala on Saturday.

The announcement came as Iraqi forces liberated Rumana subdistrict in the western province of Anbar from ISIS.

The Shi'ite led Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) militia led the charge of liberating Rumana.
