Nikolay Azarov, Anti-fashist - translated by J. Arnoldski
Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Nikolay Azarov writes on the situation in Donbass:
German Foreign Minister Steinmeier and French Foreign Minister Ayrault recently visited Eastern Ukraine. Both stated that the situation is improving and that the truce is being observed. But seeing as how they were 100 kilometers behind the contact line, they probably didn’t hear the roar of artillery cannons. But the OSCE, UN, and their intelligence services’ reports might be required reading.
On September 15th, the day of the ministers’ visit, the UN High Commissioner on Human Rights published yet another (the 15th) report which clearly says: “The situation in Eastern Ukraine is deteriorating. There is a real risk that a new outbreak of violence could occur at any time. More than half of civilians killed (more than 5,000) died as a result of artillery shelling.”
The report also points out that “civilians living in conflict-affected areas lack protection, access to basic services, and humanitarian assistance, and their freedom of movement is significantly limited.”
The report also states that “civilians suffer from torture, ill-treatment, and detention in illegal prisons.” Other facts of abuse of civilians in Eastern Ukraine by the Kiev regime are also cited.
It would do Mr. Ayrault and Mr. Steinmeier well to read this report before making any public statements.
After all, the UN report is not Kremlin propaganda, but the raw truth.
