In the year, 80% increase in rape |
In post-Maidan Ukraine, alarming growth in the crime rate
This year alone, the number of rapes increased by 80% and robberies by 40%.
These figures have been published on the TV talk show "The Black Mirror" voiced by Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexei Ryabchin.
"We have, in comparison with the previous year, 25% more offenses, but prosecutions are down 17%, while the number of robberies has increased, for example, by 40%. And there has been an 80% increase in the number of rapes," said Ryabchin.
Earlier, experts called one of the causes of rising crime a large number of former members of the ATO back from the front, many of whom acquired illegal weapons or have mental problems.
At the same time in Ukraine under the leadership of cadres from Georgia a so-called "Interior Ministry reform" is going forward, accompanied by a purge in which professionals on 'Yanukovich's criminal regime' are being dismissed from work.
