With his head as cool as are the icy landscapes of Siberia, the Russian touches the glass of Vodka. After taking a sip he goes on saying: “Moscow is not emotionally attached to Washington since the latter has traditionally always been foe of the Russians. It has to realize that the Russian bear is finally awakened and for good.”

Although Russia tends to show its bold and elastic image and always points out the necessity of cooperating with US, we must not forget that it’s actually still involved in a sort of clash with US on multiple levels. Unlike the US, however, Russia never issues controversial statements that could cause stir or provocations worldwide.

Dimitry Peskov, Vladimir Putin’s press secretary, has stated that Kremlin does not live in an imaginary world of seeing things through the rose-tinted glasses, even as regards the possible warming of the US-Russian relations. And besides, it is too early to say anything. His statement “whatever happens, we won’t be disappointed” drew a lot of attention.
This Russian diplomatic response was a direct answer for Washington.

At present time, we can seen that the cowboy from Washington has already expressed his emotional bond to the Turkish Sultan after promising him to establish the so-called safe-zones inside Syrian territory. At the same time he also assured him that no Kurdish factions will be involved in any important battles in Syria.

It is also interesting to see how Washington formerly considered the Gulf regimes solely as its own milking cow (mainly due to the fact that it provides them with protection), yet the new Trump administration has taken a rather different approach and rushed to them in a considerably more friendly manner.
Naturally the Gulf regimes welcomed Trump administration with their both arms open since they knew the former has expressed their will in helping them survive their two everlasting nightmares – Iran and Syria.

For the Russian side, we can now safely say that they have already realized that things will not be as they previously seemed to likely be, not even a month ago. Despite this, both sides (American and Russian) are actually making their efforts in order for the things not to get worse since both are the world’s main superpowers and need to cooperate on many levels.

Another thing that we should pay attention to is a possibility of another Turkish twist – this time against Russia after the new Trump administration displayed the positive attitude towards Turkey which means of course that Turkey  can (re)assume its role as their new-old lackey. It’s therefore possible that the wanna-be sultan could be used as a US puppet against Russia and its role in the Middle East.

What we might also witness is that the US administration and their new-old allies will likely open new fronts on the Syrian soil.
One in the North along the turkish border, another one which will be directed against ISIS positions in ar Raqqa province and the third one near Syrian-Jordanian border in the South of Syria.
This would also display the Trump’s image as a superman that is winning on all fronts. In terms of image (should it get realized, of course), this would of course be American hat-trick against Russia.
The Russians, on the other hand, have their eyes very wide open and their eyesight is a very sharp one. They are not only powering themselves up for future confrontations with ISIS, they are already attacking them in the East of Syria. They are protecting the suburban areas of Damascus, Al Ghouta including and are cooperating in the militias to surrender.

It’s too early to pass any judgments as the things are unpredictable and can change at any moment, but for sure the two main blocks (Russia-Syria-Iran and US-Turkey-Gulf) are both making necessary preparations which would help them achieve their desired goals.
